Lasting Powers of Attorney
This is a very important tool in managing the affairs of those who are frail or mentally infirm. It allows them to appoint the person of their choice which can include members of a firm of Solicitors if required.
However, registration is an important issue. Once mental capacity is lost the affairs of the Elderly Person must be looked after through the Public Guardianship Office (i.e. the State) and for many reasons this is often something that is best avoided.
